The city of St. Petersburg, Florida has installed Pride-inspired bike racks after Ron DeSantis forced them to remove rainbow crosswalks earlier in 2025.

DeSantis signed a law in July directing the Florida Department of Transportation to ensure 'compliance with FDOT’s uniform system for traffic control devices', which lead to the removal of the rainbow crosswalks.

The city uploaded a video to their Instagram on December 12 to announce the installation: "Pride on the streets! We’ve just installed 11 Pride-inspired bike racks along Central Ave and 25th St — a vibrant way to honor the Pride street murals that were removed earlier this year due to state requirements."
