William and Alice Jane Crockford were married for 75 years, spending that time together teaching, gardening, bicycling and mediating.

In fact, they spent so much time together over so many decades that, according to their family, it came as no surprise that the couple passed away eight days apart of each other.

The Crockfords were fixtures in the Ocean City community — in 1994, the Exchange Club of Ocean City recognized their service with the Golden Deeds Award.

“Our dad knew that my sister and I would be fine,” Kathleen Crockford, the couple's daughter, said. “And we knew he wanted to be with her.”
