Meet recent CALS grad Jarred Peterson. 👋🎓

Peterson is from Gastonia, N.C., and graduated last week with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science. At NC State, he completed the Traditions Keeper medal program, where he was able to document, share and take part in traditions important to NC State’s history. 

“My time at NC State, especially within NC State CALS, was nothing short of amazing!” he said. “The faculty, staff and students were incredibly supportive and gave me the tools to pursue my passion for agriculture, ultimately guiding me toward my interest in controlled environment agriculture and space crop production.”

After graduation, Peterson plans to gain hands-on experience working as an agricultural specialist before pursuing a master’s degree in biological and agricultural engineering with a systems analysis concentration. A career goal of his is to contribute to NASA’s Vegetable Production System and Advanced Plant Habitat.
