Have you ever driven past Roy’s Motel & Cafe and wondered what it is… and what it was once like? 🌵 Originally opened in 1938 as a gas station, cafe, and motel, it was once a bustling stop along Route 66, until the opening of I-40 diverted most of the traffic away from this roadside attraction. ⛽️

Fortunately a preservationist purchased the entire town of Amboy in 2005 and hopes to one day restore the motel cabins to their original charm. Take a Route 66 road trip to fuel up at the reopened gas station and pick out some Route 66 souvenirs. 🚙 Share this with the person you want to drive the Mother Road with! 🛣️
