Ryan Lochte recently announced he would be selling three of his Olympic gold medals at auction. 

Lochte previously stated in 2024 that he doesn’t display his Olympic medals, and (in a more recent interview) told People Magazine that “My Olympic medals represent memories I’ll carry for life, but now I want them to do more than sit on a shelf”
