Big day for the Port Authority Police Department! 👏

71 new officers have officially joined the force —after getting their shields earlier this week at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. 

The PAPD academy is recognized as one of the most rigorous law enforcement training programs in the nation, requiring 26 weeks of intensive instruction.

This class is made up of:
 ✅ 25% women
 ✅ 13% veterans
 ✅ Recruits fluent in 9 languages spoken
 ✅ 2 Officers with family ties to 9/11 service
