The site of the old Morris Brown College student center (named Hickman Student Center) and Post Office, which both sit on a vacant site in Vine City, are set to be redeveloped into a hotel,  conference center and more. 

- Invest Atlanta invest_atlanta recently announced that they have selected Prestwick Development to redevelop the site,  and surrounding properties along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, just steps from the Atlanta University Center.

The nearly eight-acre site sits across from Clark Atlanta University’s Panther Stadium and near several historic but deteriorating landmarks. Plans include new housing, a hotel, parking, and a conference center and classroom building for Morris Brown College.

City leaders say the project aims to revitalize the area while remaining compatible with the surrounding historic HBCU community.
