Quantum-dot device can generate multiple frequency-entangled photons.

A new device from ip_paris_ efficiently creates multiple frequency-entangled photons by "sculpting" the joint spectrum of two photons, turning simple input photons into a frequency-entangled quantum state at the output.

Because the device works at telecom wavelengths, the entangled photons could be used to create long-distance quantum networks with the fibers already in the ground.
