A lot of people (including our family) thought we were never going to have children…but really waiting until I was in my mid-thirties to start our family was a very intentional decision!

1. I was a sh*t show in my 20s
Post-grad life, I was a party girl living paycheck to paycheck, and honestly just experiencing life to the fullest! I was a bit lost in what I wanted to do, what my long term life goals were, and mostly just wanting to have fun - no shame! But also no time to bring life into this world

2. We were building our life together first!
Nick and I met in our mid-to-late 20s and we were both still figuring our adult lives out. We slowly started to see what that looked like together - and truthfully it wasn’t always easy. Between both of us, we had no savings, no solid home to live in (who remembers camper living?!), no true long-term goals. I cherish those years that we were just able to figure things out as we went and slowly build a strong foundation together!

3. I had ambitions career goals!
Working behind a desk as an accountant for so long taught me that wasn’t where I was meant to be forever! Yet, a job as a content creator felt scary with lots of unknowns longterm (and it still does). But truthfully I didn’t want to start a family and ultimately feel “stuck” in a job/place just for the sake of security. I soaked in every opportunity I could over the last 10 years, because the only person I could really “let down” was myself. I now have been able to implement multiple lines of passive income into my business that gives me peace of mind that I can take time to build a family without feeling like my business is being ignored.

4. Enjoying life before parenthood
While Nick and I still have many goals & ambitious plans ahead of us, we have enjoyed taking the past years together to really enjoy life, each other & embracing all the things in between!

Long story short, don’t let anyone tell you “when” the right time to have kids is; you are going to know when is right for YOU! Age is just a number, life is meant to be enjoyed whether that includes children or not♥️
