Dan Porter, CEO of @Overtime, reflects on one of the most powerful and emotional moments in the company’s journey: watching Amen and Ausar Thompson become back-to-back top-five picks in the @NBA Draft. The Thompson twins were foundational to #overtime Elite, not just as elite talents, but as proof that a new development path for young athletes could work at the highest level. From training and competing in Overtime’s league to building their confidence, visibility, and professional readiness, the #twins embodied what Overtime was trying to create.

Dan describes hosting a rooftop #draft party, knowing how unpredictable draft night can be, and then watching both brothers hear their names called just minutes apart. Born one minute apart, drafted five minutes apart, the moment felt almost unreal. For Dan, it wasn’t just about the draft positions—it was about seeing two young men he had watched grow up on and off the court immediately validate an idea that started from nothing. Seeing Amen and Ausar now thriving in the #nba made the experience even more meaningful, turning a bold entrepreneurial vision into real, life-changing impact.
