Today’s #60daysofplaid post is brought to you by Lucy Larkin, who just received word that she has only 2-3 weeks left in her cranial helmet! We’re so proud of you, Goose. 🥰 I’ll do a #DOCband + #plagiocephaly wrap-up post once she “graduates,” but so far, it’s been a *wonderful* experience—the exact opposite of what my worried mind assumed it would be like! (Search “helmet” on my blog and my two existing posts will come right up, btw. 🤗) We’re so, so happy we’re doing it, and we’re blown away by how much improvement Lucy has made in only a few short weeks. If you’re currently considering a plagiocephaly band, I know how emotionally difficult this time can be. My eyes well up just thinking about all those tearful late-night conversations Mitch and I had while trying to make a decision! I was devastated. We’re now (almost) on the other side, though, and I can honestly say it hasn’t been a big deal at ALL. If anything, it’s been a positive experience! Lucy has been essentially unaffected, and we’ve learned invaluable parenting and life lessons. Our faith in humanity has been restored, too. People are inherently good, and the support you will receive—both from those you know and those you don’t—will be overwhelming in the very best way. And if you’re still a bit wary, just know that somehow your baby will be even CUTER in the band. I mean... 😉
