T-minus five days 'til third trimester! One of my favorite little "perks" that come along with being pregnant is thicker hair, due to higher levels of estrogen that make for accelerated growth and *way* less shedding. 💃🏼 Unfortunately, though, most women—myself included—experience somewhat significant hair loss after giving birth because those estrogen levels naturally drop. 😖 It doesn’t mean that you’re vitamin-deficient; it’s just a hormonal thing, and it’s your hair simply “going back to normal.” But there are lots of ways you can keep your hair healthy and minimize hair loss, both before and after pregnant... and even if you're *not* pregnant! So today on kellyinthecity.com, I'm teaming up with HairFood—a brand that specializes in affordable, all-natural haircare—to share 10 tips for doing just that. One of 'em is by using products from the company's "Smooth Collection," which I've been loving for quite some time now. The sulfate-, paraben- and dye-free formula (made with avocado and Argan oil) is designed to smooth, moisturize and soften hair, and I really can't believe what a difference it's made for me! Head to the blog to read my other tips for keeping your hair healthy without breaking the bank, and to find out about Hair Food's three other collections!
