Last night was magic. ✨ We watched dolphins splash around the water as the sun sank into the Gulf, we tossed seashells into the waves and made wishes during a sunset “shell-ebration,” and we built sand castles while an acoustic guitar player strummed and sang Van Morrison in the background. But we’re starting to get a lot of questions re: whether we’ve actually *moved* to Florida... so I suppose it’s time to head back to Chicago. 😆 ssislandresort, you were such a serendipitous turn of events; our best-ever family vacation, all because of yet another cancelled flight—though much appreciated this time. 😉 And while we probably won’t be able to squeeze in another trip to #Captiva or #Sanibel before 👶🏼, just the thought of going back in future Januarys and Februarys makes winter seem doable. (No more -50 days, though, please & thank you. 🙈) Trading in our dresses and sandals for parkas and boots for now, but so grateful for this break from the monotony of things! Amazing how a little time away—or a lot of it 😜—can change one’s perspective on and attitude toward so much. Here’s to family, love, and adventure wherever we might be... and the seemingly drunken power of the “vacation high.” 🤣🌴💕 (Also, yes, we ate the entire bag of candy. 🤰🏼👧🏼 And our adorable sailtosable dresses are on kellyinthecity.com today; link in profile.
