BEST NEWS EVER! Our ✈️ back to Chicago was cancelled due to extreme cold, and we’re “stuck” in Florida until Sunday. 🌴 Can’t say we’re sad; the National Weather Service is saying that Chicago should expect lows in the -30s... and with windchill, possibly -60?! And if outside for as little as three to five minutes, a person will likely get frostbite. 🥶 (I am failing to grasp these concepts. ☃️ Like, what?) Needless to say, we’re feeling very grateful, and sending warm thoughts to our friends back home. (Stay safe, everyone! ♥️) And yes: this is the first time that we’ve actually been happy about the “Larkin Family Flight Curse.” 🤣 (If you’re new here, nearly every one of our flights has been cancelled or delayed, all with different airlines and/or due to different circumstances, over the last couple of years, haha. 🤷🏼‍♀️) So yeah! We’re headed off to a little celebratory dinner at campiellonaples, and then driving to ssislandresort in #Captiva where we’ll be staying until SUNDAY! ☀️ I’ll be blogging from there this week, so you can keep up with our last-minute adventure via kellyinthecity.com. 🤗 Also, how insanely adorable is this gorgeous drawing of Emma and Noodle by kr.original.art?! She combined two of my all-time favorite photos to make the most special, obviously frame-worthy picture of my favorite dynamic duo. 👧🏼🐶 I’m in love! Also, Emma’s shoes are totally on the wrong feet in the original 📷 (#momfail) but love how kr.original.art disguised that for me. 😉 And in case you’re wondering, Noodle *is* back home, but she’s safe and sound indoors, and is being cared for and loved! (And definitely peeing inside. 😂) Okay, that’s it; sorry for the novel. Stay warm, Chicago! ❄️
