#ad My husband and I bought our first home a few months ago, and one of the first things we wanted to tackle in our new home was our office! For our first home project, we decided to paint our office with the @behrpaint 2024 Colour of the Year, Cracked Pepper. The colour is a versatile, soft black that elevates any indoor or outdoor space and we are absolutely obsessed with how our office turned out! We love how Cracked Pepper can be used with any design style and truly elevates the space! Find BEHR products exclusively at @homedepotcanada. I was so inspired from painting our office with the Cracked Pepper colour that I decided to make a delicious Cacio e Pepe to further awaken my senses! Find the recipe below, enjoy xx!

Cacio e Pepe
Serves 4
‌
Ingredients
1 tbsp crushed black pepper
1 box pasta of choice
1 tbsp olive oil
1 ½ cups Pecorino Romano, freshly grated
*reserve 1 ½ cups pasta water*
Salt & pepper

Directions
‌
Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Once boiled add in pasta and cook according to box instructions.

In a large saucepan, add in finely crushed black pepper and toast over medium to high heat for 2-3 minutes. Once toasted, add olive oil and mix together until combined.

Add in 1 cup of pasta water and mix together. Once pasta is cooked, add the pasta directly from the pot to the saucepan. Add in the freshly grated Pecorino Romano and add in a ½ cup of pasta water mix together until sauce is formed and creamy. Bring mixture to a simmer for 1-2 minutes

Once pasta is evenly coated, plate and top with black pepper and more freshly grated cheese. Serve and enjoy!
