CHIPOTLE STEAK TACOS✨

Sharing with you my fiancé’s chipotle steak tacos & sauce recipe that is a favorite in the delish kitchen! We make extra batches of the sauce and store in the fridge for other recipes! Find the recipe below enjoy xx 

Chipotle Steak Tacos
Serves 4 

Ingredients
1 pound flank steak
4-5 Dried Chilis 
5-6 sprigs Green Onion
1 tomato
1 white onion 
1 lime
zest of 1 lime 
5-6 garlic cloves 
2 cups water 
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp sugar 
1 tsp chili powder 
1 tbsp olive oil 
4 cups cilantro 
salt & pepper

Directions
1. Bring a small pot of water to boil. Add dehydrated chilis to the boiling water and let simmer for 5-6 minutes until chilis are rehydrated. Strain and set aside.
2. Add chilis, green onions, onion, tomato, garlic, cilantro, water, lime juice and lime zest to a blender. Blend until smooth. Once blended, add in seasonings; salt, pepper, cumin, chili powder and mix together for 15-20 seconds. 
3. Season flank steak heavily with salt & pepper and place in a large ziplock bag. Add sauce to the ziplock bag and make sure the steak is completely covered in sauce. Add bag to fridge for 6-8 hours. Store extra chipotle sauce in a tupperware and store in the fridge.
4. After 6-8 hours, heat the skillet on med-high temperature. Add oil to the cast iron skillet and add flank steak. Cook steak for about 4-5 minutes per side. Once cooked, let rest for 5-7 minutes. Serve with corn tortillas and toppings of choice. Enjoy!
