For my people pleasing mamas, here is how to prevent everyone from trying to hold your newborn baby this holiday season ❤️

Because this video ANGERS so many people every year I post it let me shed some perspective for you 🤗

1) Yes of course you can just say no but this video is for those who have a hard time saying no. Verbalizing boundaries can be difficult for some people ❤️

2) Postpartum is a very vulnerable and emotional time. This baby has been a part of mom for almost a year. Many women develop postpartum anxiety when it comes to letting others hold their baby. It isn’t because they don’t love you or don’t want you to bond them. I urge you to think outside of yourself here. Mom is experiencing something new. She has hormones all over the place that she can’t control. Trust me, no mom likes feeling anxious. She wants her baby to bond with others but the anxiety of not being near her baby or her baby getting sick can be overwhelming and it may be easier for her and baby if she can relax and just keep her baby close. Please, let’s try to extend some grace and understanding to mom who just went through child birth ❤️

3) The holiday season is known for being infiltrated with RSV, which may seem like a normal cold to us adults but can be incredibly harmful to babies. Please just respect the parents decision if they want to keep baby away from other germs right now.

4) Not all moms feel this way. This video isn’t for every mom. It’s for the mom who doesn’t want to be isolated but is also so anxious going out with her baby. Would you really rather mom “just stay home” as so many say during this vulnerable time? Should she really be isolated from everyone just cause she wants to keep her baby close? Spoiler: Baby WANTS to always be close to mom during this stage btw.

Can we please just show some kindness and compassion for one another? Especially new moms. ❤️🤗
