*trigger warning*
I am 1 in 4...
1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage and regardless if it is in the first few weeks or later in the pregnancy, the feelings of grief and loss are still the same.

As the days go by, it seems to get easier and then, a kid playing soccer, or hugging their mom at the bus stop, or a full pregnant belly, or a mom pushing a stroller in the park can trigger some feelings of what if...what would my child have looked like, what would they have liked to do, what type of personality would they have had, would they be more like me or their dad? Then you try and muster up a smile, put on a brave face, and go on about your day.

I was once told,, "at least the child wasn't living then died." In that moment, I saw red abd felt like lashing out on the personal that said it. Then I remembered how society in general reacts to miscarriages. After a miscarriage, there is no "sorry for your loss" or constantly checking on the woman to make sure she doesn't feel lonely during her time of bereavement. Because miscarriages are so common and the baby didn't "physically" live outside the womb; people forget how devastating it can be on not just the woman, but her partner and the relationship.

It took me years to be able to get to a place where I was not angry or bitter about the hand I was dealt. The truth is, I'm healing daily. I no longer agonize myself with the "what ifs"...I just smile knowing my angel babies are watching over me and everytime I see a rainbow, I know they are saying, "Mom, you got this!" To all the women who have gone through or currently going through a miscarriage, I'm sorry for your loss. I send my love, comfort, and peace. 🙏🏽❤
