## Caption

Somethings slow down at the end of the year– but not Ratia Construction! We’ve been wrapping projects, kicking off new ones, and keeping things moving on all the rest.

1. On one of our most eco-friendly home builds, we installed solar panels so the homeowners can supplement their electric heat with solar powered energy. Architecture: m.viamontes_arch 

2. The back staircase at this home built in 1891 had seen better days, and the remodel design involved an all new layout. We’ve been breaking it down, piece by piece. Needless to say, it’s getting a little chilly inside. Architecture: m.viamontes_arch 

3. Where there was once a deck on this Lincoln Park home, we’ve dug down to expand the basement. Soon we’ll be building up an addition for the first and second floors. Architecture: designenmasse 

4. In an Evanston remodel, we salvaged and reinstalled the original plaster trim after changing the layout of some walls. There was a point when we were hand sculpting grapes to match the pattern to create a seamless transition between pieces. Design: m.viamontes_arch

6. When a room is stripped down to its bare bones, you get an immediate sense of the space’s potential. With the dramatic carpeting and curtains out of the way, we can see how this former playroom could be something more! Architecture: fortmanpeterson 

7. Some new tile and plumbing in this bathroom are packing in a punch in Old Town. Interior design: jo.lyle.design
