🌅 20+ MONKS IN MONTGOMERY ARE WALKING ACROSS U.S.: The Buddhist monks are on a pilgrimage from their center in Fort Worth, TX to D.C. + have reached Alabama’s capital city. Get all the details👇

☮️About the Walk for Peace:
—The Sangha (a.k.a. the Buddhist community) are from the Huong Dao Vipassana Bhavana Center. They began their journey in late October
—The walk is set to take about 120 days + last 2,300 miles
—The monks’ mission is “to promote national healing, unity + compassion”

🐾Aloka, a.k.a. “The Peace Dog” has also been on this journey with the monks, bringing smiles + warmth to every person he meets

📝Their Montgomery itinerary:
Walk from Alabama Union Station at 7:45AM
Stop at National Memorial for Peace + Justice + the Court Square Fountain for “collective prayers of healing”
Gather on the steps of Montgomery City Hall
Take a group photo at the Alabama State Capitol
Conclude the gathering at Vaughn Park for a lunch offering at 11:15AM, where visitors are invited to join
