hosono is a japanese artist who has made music for studio ghibli, he has an extensive solo catalogue, and he was a member of the groups yellow magic orchestra, happy end, sketch show, and apryl fool too

his impact was not confined to just that though, as artists ranging from harry styles, mac demarco, j dilla, and vampire weekend state him as a major influence

hosono has even been sampled nearly 160 times, and covered a further 100 — which is something only a handful of people would be able to say

one of my goals is to cover more international artists, and there's no better place to look than towards king haruomi to help kick things off 🥳
