Day 2 Da Nang, Vietnam 🇻🇳
📍My Son Sanctuary,  A UNESCO World Heritage Site with a 1000 year old temple 

A place that instantly makes you slow down ✨

My Son Sanctuary is tucked into a quiet, lush valley and feels worlds away from everything.
A few fascinating facts👇
• Built between the 4th–13th centuries as the spiritual and political heart of the Champa Kingdom, once a major Southeast Asian power
• Dedicated to Hindu worship, especially Shiva (Bhadreshvara), with temple towers symbolizing Mount Meru
• Brick temples, called kalans, built without mortar, using techniques still not fully understood
• The complex is organized into eight main groups, with the most detailed carvings found in Groups B, C & D
• Ancient Sanskrit and Cham inscriptions reveal stories of royalty, religion, and daily life
• Once used for royal coronations and ceremonies, with chants echoing through the valley
• Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site (1999), with only about 30% remaining after war damage and ongoing restoration

Traditional Cham dance and music performances bring the site to life — a powerful reminder that this culture isn’t just history, it’s still very much alive today.
