Wind sounds peaceful…
until you wear hearing devices.

If your kid is a hearing aid or cochlear implant users, wind doesn’t sound like nature.
It sounds like constant whooshing, static, and overload.

A few things that actually help:
• Turn their body slightly away from the wind
• Use soft coverage like hair, beanies, or headbands (skip stiff hats)
• Ask their audiologist about wind noise reduction or outdoor programs
• Use a remote mic when you can
• Take listening breaks — wind fatigue is real
• Name it and normalize it (it’s the environment, not them)

If your child melts down or shuts down on windy days, this may be why.
You’re not doing anything wrong - and neither are they.

Save this for the next windy day.
Share with a parent, teacher, or provider who needs this reminder.
Comment 🌬️ if wind is their/your nemesis.
