No matter how you choose to recreate this winter , the most important thing is getting there and back, safely. Whether you’re cruising I-25, I-70, US 36, or C-470, remember: the solid lines on Express Lanes are there for everyone’s safety. Crossing them is not just illegal, it’s dangerous. I’ve had to slam on my brakes when someone crossed right in front of me unexpectedly!

Colorado now uses cameras and sensors to catch violations automatically. Its $75 for the first violation which goes up to $150 if not paid in 20 days. 

Its not just the solid line you need to know about, you can only enter and exit where there’s a dashed line. Watch the lane signs, especially on I-70 and C-470. If youre closest to the dashed line you can cross but if youre closest to the solid lines you need to hold off!

On I-70 oversized vehicles aren’t allowed in the Express Lane, and closed lanes are off-limits for a reason: they’re emergency shoulders.
