Hopi and Diné runner Hosava will represent Indian Country at the 2028 Olympic Trials after running a marathon (26.2 miles) in an astounding 2 hours, 15 minutes, and 50 seconds.

In an Instagram post celebrating the achievement, Hosava shared:

“It’s been a spiritual experience, one where growth is constant and failure means you’re doing something right. The Hopi believe running is community-driven and involves all the elements of the earth. It reminds us to stay grounded with the land.”

He later added:

“A note to all the Native youth out there — believe in yourself, be bold, and don’t give up.”
