Japan, like so many foreign counties, does a great job taking care of mothers and little ones. While there are a few things about having a baby here that I personally find challenging, overall it’s a beautiful place to be with small children. It’s safe, it’s clean, and they are extremely accommodating by providing things like priority seating to mothers with babies on public transit and spaces like these baby care rooms in large public places.

So, let’s take a tour of the baby rooms here in Japan. Many baby care rooms include a plethora of changing stations, a sink that dispenses both hot and cold water for preparing or warming food or bottles, and a very cute potty area specifically designed for toddlers. Some of them even include vending machines that sell small packs of diapers and wipes, baby food, and juice boxes. Here in Japan, breastfeeding without a cover is frowned upon, which, to be honest, bothers me a little as a breastfeeding mom. However, the baby care rooms have private nooks where mothers can feed or soothe their babies as needed. They’re quiet and comfortable, and perfect for babies that are easily distracted while nursing (like mine). Jaxson approves!

Have you ever been to a country that has baby care rooms like these that are accessible to parents? Wouldn’t you love to see more rooms like this in America? If Target had something like these, they would take even MORE of my money!
