Like many of us, I’ve had to take a step back from social media over the past few days for my own well being and because I haven’t had the words to share. This is my family. My beautiful black family. Brands want to work with us. They want to feature my brown skinned baby girl in their outfits and share images of my husband and I using their products... but do they want to work with us to bring about change? I appreciate all of the brands, businesses, and people in general who’ve taken a stand and made their positions known on social media. The work doesn’t stop on Instagram, though - in fact, it’s only just begun. Going forward, we’re for those that are for us. .
