I’m so in love with being Harper’s mama. She’s getting to that age where sometimes she clearly favors me. I’m the only person she wants, the only person who can console her and make her content and comfortable. Sometimes I want to complain. But whenever I find myself thinking “can I get just ONE minute?” I remind myself that she won’t always want me to hold her and cuddle her and have silly conversations with her. One day, she’ll be climbing off my lap and she’ll think my attempts to make her laugh are lame. But, for now, we have the sweetest little conversations and she gives me the cutest coos and grins. She looks up at me with so much love and admiration and I’m reminded that Mama is the title that I’ve always wanted. So if you just want Mama, that’s ok, little one. Mama wants you back. .
