Probably I’ve never told you that I write poetry, so here’s a short one about how life has been feeling lately:

i laugh at my glassy eyes
because I know they are flimsy
fickle things.
i breathe in my drive because
i’m going places,
reaching heights
that cross the Milky Way
and run through
bottomless
black holes.
I sing colors that move me
because I find beauty
in art and human emotion.
I write and read because
the world is a feast
and I am here to
get high
off of all the culture
that I can
until my soul
feels full.
