#TSRTech: Google may finally be letting some users change their Gmail address without creating an entirely new account, businessinsider reports.

Google appears to be testing a new feature that would let some users change their account email or username, a process that previously required starting over with a new account. The option appears to be limited for now and is only available in select regions, including some Hindi-speaking areas. Google has not said when or if the feature will roll out globally.

Once a user updates their email address, their old Gmail address will still work as an alias, meaning emails sent to the old address will continue to arrive. However, users will not be able to create a brand-new Gmail address for 12 months after making the change. Users can sign in to Google services like Gmail, YouTube, Google Drive, and Google Play using either their old or new email address, and all existing data and services will remain intact.
