Let’s talk fat-burning zones.
Not the internet version. The real one.

There are two main types of fat:
• Subcutaneous fat is what you can pinch
• Visceral fat surrounds your organs and is driven by hormones, stress, and insulin resistance

You can’t target either one directly.
Your body decides based on intensity, duration, hormones, sleep, stress, and nutrition.

The so-called fat-burning zone lives around 60–70% of your max heart rate.

At this intensity, you burn a higher percentage of fat, rely more on oxygen, and can sustain the work longer.
This is where long endurance cardio lives.

Think incline walking, easy cycling, steady runs, rowing.
This improves aerobic efficiency and teaches the body how to use fat as fuel over time.

But here’s what most people miss:
Burning fat during a workout does not guarantee fat loss long term.

Now enter short burst, high-intensity cardio at 80–95% max heart rate.

Here, you burn more carbohydrates during the session, but you create a powerful hormonal response that elevates metabolism after the workout.
This is where visceral fat starts responding.

Sprints. Intervals. Power circuits.
Different signal. Different result.

The truth is simple:
Fat loss isn’t about choosing one. It’s about using both correctly.

Endurance trains the system.
Intensity changes the system.
Strength training protects muscle.
Nutrition decides the outcome.
Sleep and stress control where fat is stored and released.

The body doesn’t change from extremes.
It changes from intelligent signals.
