With the signing of Nelson and the departure of Bukari, these are the attacking options (as of now) for Austin FC in 2026 🌳

Myrto Uzuni leads the front line and will need to be the leader until BV9 returns. A bounce back season in 2026 feels crucial for Myrto. Brandon Vázquez is the primary 9, but he likely won’t be back until around March. When healthy, he offers physicality, pressing, and proven MLS goals. The fans are anxiously awaiting his return.

CJ Fodrey proved himself in the second half of last season, scoring important goals for Austin FC. What will his role be in 2026?

Jayden Nelson, the new addition, adds another dynamic profile out wide, bringing pace, 1v1’s, and goal scoring capabilities. Jáder Obrian provides speed on the flanks when Austin looks to attack in transition. There’s also Robert Taylor, who had a slow 2025 with Austin FC but remains an option for Coach Nico and can score if the opportunity presents itself.

Another option, one that proved to be successful in 2025, is Owen Wolff. His growth as a creator and threat on the wing was crucial for Coach Nico. One of Austin’s most important players at such a young age. 

Jon Gallagher is everywhere and can easily slot in on the wing. For so long, he’s had a defensive role that some may have forgotten he’s an attacking player first. Could he see minutes up top in 2026? He can pull his weight.

The attack is still being worked on after a massive investment last year and a big departure this offseason.
