For this week's story of #HowWeMetAtRU, we have @topnotchmusa & @berlzcherry ✨

"We met in 2013 at Rutgers during our freshman year of college. We didn’t have a 'love at first sight' story but it did give us a path to 'being best friends to the end' story. During college, there was no initial ‘spark’ to grow us past acquaintances. It wasn’t until Moises’ last semester of college and Berley’s post-grad year that we were able to move from acquaintances to friends. We took a group trip with friends to Puerto Rico and it was during that trip that we developed an undoubtable connection. We were constantly looking for opportunities to be next to each other while we explored and went sightseeing. Even during our last days in Puerto Rico, we grew sad because we didn't want to stop spending time with each other. We began to enjoy each other's company more and more. 

Gradually, we transitioned from only hanging out in groups to hanging out with just each other. The more we hung out, the more joy would consume us. We would find ourselves saying the same things at the same time, having the same random thoughts, and having the same interests. Our connection was undeniable. We were eager to chat with each other every day, never wanting to go home, never wanting to hang up. We looked forward to our next hellos. We were so happy, beyond belief, to find out that we both had been growing feelings that were no longer able to fit inside a friendship alone. In March of 2019 Moises asked Berley to be his girlfriend. About 2 years later we got engaged and now look forward to marriage! All the good feelings and memories rush back whenever we get the chance to visit Rutgers. Our experiences would not have been the same without each other."
