🚨BREAKING: At his inauguration, newly sworn-in Mayor Zohran Mamdani just sent a shockwave through the establishment — declaring that he was elected as a Democratic Socialist and will govern as a Democratic Socialist — and that he “will not abandon [his] principles for fear of being deemed radical.”

🎤 If MAGA and the billionaire class thought he’d backtrack once in office… they were dead wrong.

🗣️ “We will transform the culture of City Hall from one of ‘no’ to one of ‘how.’ We will answer to all New Yorkers — not to any billionaire or oligarch who thinks they can buy our democracy. We will govern without shame and without insecurity, making no apology for what we believe.”

He quoted Bernie Sanders: “What’s radical is a system that gives so much to so few, and denies so many people the basic necessities of life.” Mamdani vowed that no New Yorker would be priced out of those necessities under his watch.

💥 And in true NYC fashion, he closed by invoking Jadakiss: “We will — in the words of Jason Terrance Phillips, better known as Jadakiss — be outside!”

He also reminded the city why this fight matters:

🗽 “To love New York is to be a steward of something without equal. Where else can a Muslim kid like me grow up eating bagels and lox every Sunday?”

This is what real patriotism and real public service looks like: not selling out to oligarchs and oil barons like Trump — but building a city where working people come first.

🔥 Zohran doesn’t just talk about loving his city — he fights to make it equitable, livable, and affordable. And when his movement succeeds, other cities will have no choice but to follow.
