They say time moves differently on the island, and looking back at this year, it’s easy to see why. 2025 marked some meaningful milestones for us. It has been:

• 200 years since the portofgalveston was established
• 180 years of the galvestonchamber 
• 160 years since Juneteenth
• 140 years since The Great Fire
• 130 years of thegrand1894operahouse 
• 125 years since The 1900 Storm

It’s more than a list of dates. It’s a reminder that this island has many layers and a whole lot of grit. No matter what has been thrown at this city over the last two centuries, Galveston has always found a way to rebuild and keep going! 🌊⚓️🏛️
