Four-year-old Johnathan “John John” Everett Boley, visiting from Florida with his 6-year-old brother, Isaac, vanished in Walker County during a five-day stay with his father.

He was last seen about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 7000 block of Highway 195 in Jasper. During the search for Johnathan, his father, 40-year-old Jameson Kyle Boley, was arrested.

Authorities found explosive devices in his home and in the surrounding woods. More charges were later filed, stating the children “had the opportunity” to be exposed to methamphetamine.

According to Isaac, Johnathan was last seen near the woods behind the home with the family’s black Labrador mix named Buck, which has also gone missing.

Sheriff Nick Smith held a press conference Friday to provide an update to the search, now in its third day. The criminal charges against Boley are not connected to the child’s disappearance and the priority is finding the boy.

Multiple law enforcement agencies are on the scene. Community members also gathered in a volunteer search. Johnathan’s mother, Angel Boley, has returned to Alabama from Florida since his disappearance.
The sheriff asked that anyone in the area of Highway 95 check their cameras, especially deer cameras placed in wooded areas.

Johnathan was last seen wearing a yellow Mickey Mouse shirt, black pants and Paw Patrol shoes, according to the BOLO and ALEA’s alert.

Johnathan is 4 feet tall and weighs 50 pounds. He has blonde hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the sheriff’s office at 205-384-7218.
