i let the beasts choose a pair of pajamas from the absolutely adorable new hannaandersson farmer’s market line and they all chose strawberries!! here’s how to make stovetop granola using whatever you have in the pantry. best topped with springtime strawberries from the farmer’s market <3

stovetop granola:

1 cup nuts and/or seeds, chopped
2 cups oats
1 stick (8 tablespoons) unsalted butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
A big pinch of flaky sea salt
A shake or two of cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, ground ginger, etc
1 cup dried fruit, finely chopped

In your largest skillet over medium heat, toast the chopped nuts until lightly browned. If you have small seeds (like chia or flax) add them later, with the oats. Add the oats and continue toasting everything, stirring often, until the nuts and oats are golden-brown. If things are getting too browned too fast, just cut the heat down!

Add the butter, brown sugar, sea salt, and whatever seasonings you’re into (I just do cinnamon for the kids). Stir until the butter is totally absorbed and the oats don’t look wet, another 4 minutes or so. Taste. Is it sweet enough? Add more sugar if needed! Turn off the heat.

Chop the dried fruit and stir it into the granola.

Let it cool completely, then serve! Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 weeks, or in the freezer for several months. I sprinkle it on my yogurt and it thaws within a minute or two.
