Former Suffolk County Police Department Commissioner Rodney K. Harrison has endorsed New York Assemb. Zohran Mamdani’s approach to policing. But that doesn’t mean Harrison has endorsed the Democratic Party’s nominee for New York City mayor.

Harrison, the NYPD’s former chief of department, who spent 30 years with the agency before he served as Suffolk police commissioner from December 2021 to December 2023, said he recently spoke with Mamdani and liked what he heard.
