What started as "ragging" on September 18 turned into a nightmare of alleged physical assault and intimidation by three seniors. To make matters worse, she allegedly faced harassment from a professor, Ashok Kumar, instead of receiving protection.

After battling severe depression and fighting for her life on a ventilator for two months, Pallavi passed away on December 26.
