“Tiger sharks (Galeocerdo cuvier) possess highly adapted sensory organs that make them effective nocturnal hunters.

Their eyes contain a reflective layer called the ‘tapetum lucidum’, which enhances low-light vision and allows them to detect prey in dark or murky waters. Their eyes can also rotate slightly, giving them a wider field of view without moving their head.

In addition to vision, tiger sharks have sensitive inner ears that detect low-frequency vibrations, enabling them to sense struggling prey from considerable distances.”
