No longer an independent partner finishing cars in Buchloe, Alpina has transitioned into a high-end luxury sub-brand, mirroring the relationship between Maybach and Mercedes-Benz.

While the founding Bovensiepen family pivots to their new classic restoration business, BMW has refreshed the Alpina identity with a retro-inspired logo that signals a new era of “clarity and calm.”

The flagship of this new chapter is the highly anticipated reborn Alpina B7, set to debut in late 2026.

Developed alongside the mid-cycle refresh of the current 7 Series (G70 LCI), this model finally fills the void left by the previous discontinuation of the V12 engine.

Enthusiasts will be relieved to hear it is expected to feature a uniquely tuned version of BMW’s S68 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, keeping the traditional internal combustion flagship alive.
