We’re celebrating with two unique takes on the American flag—each reflecting a different voice, medium, and message. Javier Guadalupe, originally from Quito, Ecuador, creates intricate, dimensional textile works from European fabrics like cashmere, cotton, satin, and wool. His piece “Brave Nation” transforms traditional symbols into something tactile and contemporary. John Westbay, a self-taught artist from Brooklyn, started tagging “LOVE” across NYC walls before translating street art onto canvas. His painting “All American” captures the optimism of pop-inspired street art, infusing the piece with the spirit of freedom and self-expression.
