Surround yourself with some fine-feathered friends at the Detroit Zoo this National Bird Day!

Scarlet ibis, golden weavers, turquoise tanagers and emerald doves are only a few of the colorful species living in the Matilda R. Wilson Free-Flight Aviary. Go on a tropical bird-watching adventure in the middle of winter and see how many you can identify.

Visit our education stations to learn how you can make your yard bird-friendly and support conservation efforts that protect birds here in Michigan and around the world. We'll be celebrating on January 6th from 11-3 in the Wildlife Interpretive Gallery.
