Ottawa got buried under 70 cm of snow over the weekend, but our teams have been working nonstop to clear the snow from the ice. 

Here’s how they do it: 
🔹 Step 1: Blowers and sweepers push snow to the edges of the skate track. 
🔹 Step 2: Cold air helps firm up the exposed ice. 
🔹 Step 3: Drifting snow fills in cracks, and our team floods the surface to smooth it out. 

With temps dropping to –30°C overnight, the ice is bouncing back fast. Stay tuned for updates! 

️⚠ Reminder: Snow acts as an insulator and weakens the ice, so please stay off the snow-covered edges!
