A loadmaster with the 139th Airlift Squadron prepares a ski-equipped LC-130 Hercules, or "ski-bird," at McMurdo Station. The 109th Airlift Wing operates the world’s only ski-equipped LC-130s, supporting critical U.S. Antarctic research missions year after year.
