#HumanitiesHighlight: Meet Naomi Aviles, Sociology major who found a new passion for history while interning with the Piedmont Historical Preservation Society.

Naomi helps sort, catalog and preserve documents, photos, scrapbooks and other items that tell the story of our region — work that has strengthened her organizational and social skills. 

The internship also opened her eyes to new career possibilities and gave her real-life work experience interacting with people she might not otherwise meet. It helped her better understand how the social skills developed through sociology translate across fields.
