Breaking news: "About a Living Culture," the public art installation by IMAGINE (Imagine876), also known as Sneha Shrestha, has been extended through September 2026 🎉

Installed in Jackson Heights, Queens, the work draws inspiration from the neighborhood’s rich Himalayan cultural presence. This marks the artist’s first public art sculpture, created as an arch formed by repeating rows of “Ka,” the first letter of the Nepali alphabet.

In Nepal, archways often mark sacred spaces—inviting passersby to pause, pass through, and receive blessings. Here, IMAGINE’s sculpture offers New Yorkers a space for reflection and belonging in Diversity Plaza, a vibrant hub of community life and transit.

"About a Living Culture" is a nyc_dotart Community Commission, presented in partnership with the Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art.
