For more than 30 years, Terry Turner has been giving back to the rivers that shaped his love for fishing, especially Oregon’s Clackamas River.

A longtime Trout Unlimited volunteer, former member of TU's Board of Directors, and leader within TU's Clackamas Chapter, Terry has helped scale up ambitious habitat restoration projects that reconnect floodplains, remove barriers, and restore spawning and rearing habitat for salmon, steelhead, and more. Led by Terry’s vision, the Clackamas Chapter has spent the past few years working closely with partners like the U.S. Forest Service, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board to restore habitat throughout the basin. 

His story is a powerful example of how river champions can drive meaningful, large-scale conservation for their home waters and beyond.
