At the 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon, Toyota Gazoo Racing gave the GR GT and GR GT3 their first public debut, transitioning the cars from static prototypes to high-performance demonstrators.

The showcase featured “dynamic” demo runs where professional drivers, including Daisuke Toyoda, piloted the V8-powered flagships on a makeshift track to demonstrate their raw engine notes and agility.

Toyota also displayed cutaway models of the vehicles to highlight their technical foundation, specifically the newly developed 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine and the company’s first all-aluminum body frame.
