Wer ein wenig Hochgebirge haben möchte, der kann das auf Madeira auch haben: der Pico Ruivo ist mit 1862m Madeiras höchster und Portugals dritthöchster Berg. Mein Weg zum Gipfel startet auf dem Pico Ariero mit 1818m. Wer glaubt, damit wären nicht mehr viele Höhenmeter zu bewältigen, der irrt sich gewaltig, denn es sind noch zwei andere Gipfel auf dem Weg, und tiefe Täler dazwischen.
